A sign was removed Monday from the tennis courts in front of the Williams Center after the University Police Department was informed of a racial slur written on it with permanent marker. A Royal Purple staff member discovered the graffiti May 3, indicating it had been present for more than a week.

The Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity has been suspended for three years for underage drinking and hazing violations.
According to reports, as many as 25 students will be disciplined and TKE will not be allowed to reapply to become a campus organization until 2011.

Jake Frederick, assistant professor of history, has received a research grant from the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies at Harvard University.
