200-1. Those were the odds of the Tampa Bay Rays winning the World Series at the beginning of the season. In 2007, the Rays went 66-96, the worst record in all of Major League Baseball. Fast-forward to 2008, and the Rays go on to win 97 games and finish with the third best record in MLB.

There was once a time when I enjoyed Sundays. I used to find solace in sleeping in, eating breakfast and spending my day watching football. It was a routine engrained in me since childhood. Regardless of how much homework I had or who was playing, I almost always took time out of my day to watch at the very least one NFL game.

As a native New Englander, there are a lot strange things about living in the Midwest. First off, there aren't as many fried things on a stick in my native town of Ridgefield, Conn., where soccer moms and minivans abound. The people here tend to be (in general) friendlier, and of course the seafood isn't as good.

Dressing up for candy may sound a little bit like Halloween, but that's exactly what students did the week of October 6 to celebrate the return of Macalester Homecoming. Themed days included Pajama Day, Go Green Day, Down to Business Day and Twin Day, with students wearing Mac colors on Friday to round out the school week.
