Enthusiastic turnout has Mac crew steadily rowing along
Watching teams of boats gliding along the Mississippi River is one of the most pristine sights to be had in the Twin Cities. At this past weekend's North Star Challenge the Macalester Crew team got the opposite side of the story, with the rowers testing their physical limits in order to push their boats upstream in as quick a time as possible.

The Macalester Crew team competed in four regattas this fall. The following is a summary of top performances in each regatta from the beginning of the season. Varsity went alone to Des Moines for the Head of the Des Moines and the mixed eight took 1st place out of 4, defeating St.

The women's soccer team is on a mission: they need to win their game tonight against Augsburg in order to remain in the running for the conference playoffs. The Scots, having tied their last two games against St. Catherine and Gustavus Adolphus, currently stand in 6th place, with a conference record of 5-3-2.

In their last home game of the season last Friday night, the men's soccer team saw their slim playoff hopes dashed, losing 2-1 in overtime in a must win game against Gustavus Adolphus. It was a hard fought match from start to finish, with Gustavus sneaking in a late goal with just over a minute left in overtime.

Though the weather continues to get steadily colder, the men's and women's cross country teams are coming off of some of their hottest performances all season, including some of the fastest times in Macalester history. Not only are both teams looking to stay hot for tomorrow's MIAC Championships, but a few of the racers have hopes that their performances in the next couple of weeks will earn them a trip to nationals.

No nationals, but water polo team is now more cohesive

As many mourn the close of the fall athletic season, they are flocking to see the final games and tournaments of varsity sports. Volleyball is looking to end its long losing streak tonight against Hamline, the football team is rearing to play the University of Minnesota Morris at the Metrodome today, and the cross country teams are seeking glory at the MIAC Championships tomorrow.

Football team stays in the game, despite losses and injuries

The football team will travel to the Metrodome today to play the University of Minnesota Morris at 12:30 p.m. At 3-5, the Scots are hoping to close out their season at an even .500 with victories against Morris and Hamline. This past Saturday, the Scots fell to Martin Luther by a score of 28-14.
