Rasmussen's overtime goal sends men's soccer to MIAC final

After 105 minutes of scoreless soccer Wednesday night, Taylor Rasmussen '13 put a dropped ball by St. Olaf goalkeeper Alex Kuehl into the back of the net. The shot sent Rasmussen flying toward stands filled with a screaming crowd that had spent the night yelling their support despite freezing temperatures.

An early goal from Emily Bardwell '11 proved just enough for Macalester Women's soccer on Nov. 3 as they beat St. Thomas 1-0 in the semifinals of the MIAC playoffs. Bardwell scored just seven minutes into the match. The goal was her 14th of the season, the most since All-American Annie Borton scored 20 in 2004.
